Restoration Of Missing Teeth

About the possibilities of modern prosthetics

Unfortunately malignant caries of teeth is not known to each of us just by hearsay. It all starts with the first holes, big and small, which are successfully coped with for a time with the help of modern strong and matched with the colour of teeth seals. But it’s not a barrier for caries, and one day one tooth does not stand and collapses so that it loses its greater part or drops out or it is to be removed. This, of course, is not the only reason: one can lose a tooth (mostly just one) because of its trauma, severe inflammation of the surrounding soft tissue, increased abrasion, etc. Fortunately there are now many possibilities of restoring a lost tooth.

The most modern and reliable possibility to restore a lost tooth is by implanting a titanium rod, which is attached to the jawbone. And in its place there can be set any prosthesis, including crowns of magnificent forms and colour, that replace a lost tooth. In this case no other tooth will damage in the slightest way. The prosthesis comfortably and quietly gets the place of lost teeth and even saves the bone tissue of jaw from resorption, as it creates the same load on it as natural teeth when chewing. And the upper crown made of ceramics or metal-ceramics, by its color, structure and transparency will be very close to natural dental tissues, which is valuable from the aesthetic point of view.

To fill the partial loss of teeth, Adhesion bridges are used. The emergence in the late 20th century of the new generation of materials such as composites and adhesives, has led to the original non-replaceable constructs- adhesive bridge prosthesis (ABP). To increase the strength of these structures a mandatory reinforcement of different fiber materials is required. Without significant preparation of supporting teeth, these prostheses do not cause side effects, typical for metal-ceramic bridges. And it assisted to the widespread usаge of adhesive bridges in recent years.

But despite the large number of structures and methods of construction of adhesive bridges, they serve about 3-5 years, which is not enough for a permanent non-removable construction. This defines the urgent need to increase the reliability of adhesive bridges. The emergence of a new generation of restorative dental materials on the basis of ormokers, with high physical and mechanical characteristics as compared with ordinary composites, allows to apply them for improving the strength properties and increase the operational resources of adhesive bridges. The advantages of ABP are: minimal trimming of supporting teeth, low price and that it can be done in one visit.

A more robust construction is the bridge prosthesis, which provides an excellent opportunity to restore a lost tooth. Here an artificial tooth is attached to the crowns, which are located on the neighbouring teeth. So the main negative of this way is the sacrifice of healthy teeth, which should provide support for the prosthesis. But as a result, when applying popular metal-ceramics there is formed a durable and aesthetic construction, nicely in keeping with the number of living teeth, and fully carrying out the function of mastication.
Restoration of several lost teeth

About the possibilities of modern prosthetics

Yes, the human body is fragile and unstable for many violent shocks, and the best example of it are our teeth that fall out at times very often, and even several pieces at once, especially under adverse conditions. So today the possibilities of recovering some lost teeth are very important to many people who have lost their nice smile and peace of mind because of the large holes in a steady number of teeth.
Dental Implantology is a good opportunity to recover several lost teeth. In implantation process titanium rod is implanted in the jaw bone, which later serves as the root of the tooth, which is equally, if not more, durable and strong. Later the upper part (abutment) is attached to the fixed implant, which recreates the lost teeth with beautiful shape and colour, for ceramics and metal-ceramics in colour, structure and transparency are close to the real dental tissues. All the implanted structure is obtained solid and durable, sparing other teeth and surrounding soft tissue, it is safe, comfortable and inconspicuous.

Before After
The advantages of implantation

An opportunity to restore a lost tooth, without grinding the adjacent teeth. The adjacent teeth stay alive.
An opportunity to set non-removable prosthesis in the absence of several teeth- the implant will act as support.
Implants give an opportunity of making a prosthetic appliance of wholly toothless jaw with more convenient fixed constructions. You will get rid of inconvenient removable prostheses forever!
The implant solves not only the problem of missing teeth, but also removes the extra load on the neighbouring teeth and therefore saves them.
The new artificial tooth feels like, functions and looks like a natural healthy tooth.
It is known that long-time absence of teeth leads to atrophy of bone. Implants give the opportunity to save the jawbone and avoid the deformation of the oval of face. The proper distribution of load in the act of chewing gives the opportunity to save the level of the bone tissue.
